Maison Yep-Riopel: Fireside Chats

Join Sandy Yep and/or JP Riopel—whose stories and namesakes are intertwined with the 116 de la Gauchetière O. building itself—as they discuss their own families’ heritage, personal stories, and presence within Chinatown through the new Maison Yep-Riopel exhibition. Taking place in the Yep family’s ancestral home, this exhibition chronicles the different eras the building has been through, from its first occupation by Sandy’s entrepreneuring great-grandfather, to JP’s recent acquisition of it, delineating the building’s history of community-led resistance against systemic racism and segregation. Admission is free. Come in, have some tea, and chat with Sandy and JP all while visiting the Maison Yep-Riopel exhibition.

From 1-3 PM, Chinatown House, 116 rue de la Gauchetière O. on May 3rd, June 14th, July 12th, and August 16th.
