Join Sandy Yep — whose family is intertwined with the 116 de la Gauchetière O. building itself — as he discusses his family’s heritage, personal stories, and presence within Chinatown through the new Maison Yep-Riopel exhibition. Taking place in the Yep family’s ancestral home, this exhibition chronicles the different eras the building has been through, from its first occupation by Sandy’s entrepreneuring great-grandfather, to JP Riopel’s recent acquisition of it, delineating the building’s history of community-led resistance against systemic racism and segregation. Admission is free. Come in, have some tea, and chat with Sandy all while visiting the Maison Yep-Riopel exhibition.
